in an old mine, far up the mountains of southtyrol , the copper dissolved in the ground gets collected and melted. in this way ingots are created, which are then forged into sheet metal. these form the basis for iconic brooches, the shape of which is inspired by the shapes and windings of the old tunnels of the predoi-mine, the very same mine the material comes from. the surface of the copper, deliberately archaically worked and oxidized with secret and patient processes, is porous and rough, rich in traces and stains like the canvas of an abstract work. the rough surface is then combined with clear and thin slices of rock crystal, another typical material of the mountains, which is cut with water to obtain a silky surface, creating a new dialogue overcoming the barrier of time.
